WARNING: Proud Mama Moment!!!

My sweet daughter asked if she could write a guest post for my blog. How can I say no to that? Without any help, she came up with an amazing story of encouragement! So, without further introduction, here’s Cassie telling us about her calling.

cassie and dena

Hi! I’m Cassie, my mom’s favorite daughter. I want to share a story with you. I also want you to know I will look at every comment and reply if needed! When God wants you to do something for the rest of your life, it’s called a calling. I was called in June of 2015.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

                                                                        –Jeremiah 1:5

That verse is saying every single one of us has a purpose and a calling, and God knew what it was before you were even formed. God had been planning my calling since before I was born. Now let me tell you the story.

First off, I want you to know that I sing 24/7. If there is a chance for me to sing I take it. Singing is my thing, it’s what I do,

It is my PASSION.

And in all 10 years of Church, Switch (Awana’s), small groups, and Church Camp I hadn’t given that a second thought. Until Camp last year June 2015. It was Wednesday our last day for evening worship since we left at noon the next day. Every night I felt like God was telling me something, but I couldn’t quite hear what He was saying.

Or was I just scared of what He had to tell me.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.”

                                                                                                1 John 4:18

What that verse is saying is that if hadn’t decided to listen to what God was trying to tell me I would have to live with the guilt of knowing I ignored Him. Well that last night I listened. And the last song they played was Cornerstone. I had my eyes closed my hands raised and for that whole song it was just me and God. That night when they said, “If you feel God is telling you something find your leader.” I knew what God was telling me it was loud and clear. “Go,” He said. So I went. I know my leader very well since her daughter is my best friend, but she had another camper with her. She must have known it was something important since she had him go to another leader.

Then I realized something, what am I going to tell her? This thought came to my mind as we sat down and she asked what was up. Then God spoke through me as I heard my response which was, “God called me to worship.”

Remember Michelle knows me very well and she said, “it’s about time!” And I remember how good it felt after I said that and I could not stop smiling! It was an experience I’ll never forget!

Remember never give up on what God is telling you!

And remember you’re doing it for God so every single one of you can say, “I am famous in my Father’s eyes.”

I know your story and eloquent message will resonate with others as it has with me, instead of worrying about what God wants me to do, I just have to ask Him for He’s known since the beginning! Thank you for sharing your uplifting experience and I rejoice that you can use your voice to praise the Father.
