When God Works on Your Heart

Oh, so many thoughts in my head right now!

My heart aches to do what God has called me to do. I know it is the most energizing thing I can do—to walk fully in the calling He has placed on my life. I long to be able to devote more time, more energy to building a ministry, to helping others walking through the pain and devastation of divorce.

Yet, life presses in all around. I have three more classes—only three more classes—to finish my Masters degree. I have two children still at home that I long to pour into. I have an amazing husband that I enjoy spending time with.

I also have a full-time job. I love my job…and most importantly, it pays the bills. I can’t just walk away from my paycheck and devote all my time and energy to building my ministry. I want to build my ministry into a full-time writing, speaking and coaching business.

But God…

In the midst of all these thoughts, I hear God whisper. I am reminded of the many times I have said I don’t want a man-made business. I want a ministry only God can build, one that when the world looks at it, they can clearly see the hand of God. I don’t ever want a ministry, a business, that has been built by the blood and sweat of man. I only want a ministry that is built by the blessings of God.

For He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than I could ever ask, hope, or imagine. Ephesians 3:20 (paraphrased)

Several weeks ago, I wrote about a life-coaching group I want to start for women walking through divorce. It will be an online group with monthly video sessions and an online support group where we can build relationships.

I still want to do this group, but there is one major change:

I will have absolutely no financial requirements.

As I drove to work this morning, I heard God tell me to simply trust Him. I know the financial struggles of being a single mom, of trying to figure out how to keep the lights on and food on the table. I also know just how blessed I am, how much God has poured out His provisions over me.

Yes, I want to build this coaching business into a full-time income so I can focus more time and energy on doing what God has called me to do, but I am choosing to trust God with the financial side. I want to be faithful to do what He has called me to do without regard to income.

And I am firmly convinced He will do what only He can do – something so much more than I could ever ask, hope, or imagine.

So here we are. I want to kick off this group in the next week or so. I hope to have at least ten women in who are eager to meet and talk about all the issues confronting them, issues such as finances and loneliness and forgiveness and single parenting. I want to have the opportunity to visit with you individually. I want to use the journey God has given me to help be your guide, your encourager, on your own journey through the wilderness to the Promised Land. I want to be a sounding-board so you can talk about the hard stuff with someone who truly understands.

With no financial requirements.

If you can give, great. There are links to donate on my website. I can give you PayPal information or find other ways you can donate.

If you can’t give, I still want you to be part of the group. I want you to know God sees your pain, hears your prayers. I want you to know you are not in this journey alone.

Maybe you don’t feel like you need the coaching, but you want to support a single mom. If that’s the case, I have plenty of ways for you to give, to provide scholarships so others can participate

No matter what your situaion, I am called to be faithful to use my journey to help others. I want to be faithful to all God has done for me. I don’t want my pain to be in vain. And if I can help you, my pain has been worth it.

If you are interested in joining the group, please email me at [email protected]. Put Life Coaching Group in the subject line, and I will get back with you as soon as possible.

Can’t wait to have you on this journey with me!
