30 Day Challenge
I am a KLove listener. I listen in my car (88.9 FM here in Oklahoma City area). I listen in the office. I listen at home. We always have our music playing.
(BTW, I believe having music playing is a great way to start being transformed by the renewing of your mind as we discussed last week from Romans 12:2).
Anyway, at the beginning of every year, KLove issues a 30-day challenge in which they ask listeners to listen to nothing but Christian music. Like me, they believe what we put in our minds has a profound impact on our lives.
I’ve actually been on about a 40 year challenge if we are totally honest, and I do believe it has helped make me into the person I am today. Furthermore, when I was going through my divorce, it was music that saved me, music that God used to minister to my heart when nothing else would get through to me.
In the spirit of the KLove 30-day challenge, today I am issuing you a similar challenge:
For the next 30 days, I want you to read the following scriptures aloud at least three times each day. I also want you to personalize them (as I have begun below). Let’s proclaim them as truth because we know the truth sets us free (John 8:32).
But God demonstrates his own love for me in this: While I was still a sinner, Christ died for me. Romans 5:8
For God so loved me that he gave his one and only Son, that if I believe in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
For I am God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for me to do. Ephesians 2:10

You will keep me in perfect peace because my mind is steadfast, because I trust in you. Isaiah 26:3
no weapon forged against me will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Isaiah 54:17
When I pass through the waters, He is with me; and when I pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over me. When I walk through the fire, I will not be burned; the flames will not set me ablaze. Isaiah 43:2
May the God of hope fill me with all joy and peace as I trust in him, so that I may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
And my God will meet all my needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
No, in all these things I am more than a conqueror through him who loved me. Romans 8:37
Therefore, because I am in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12-14
For He know the plans He has for me,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me a hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
‘When I call to Him, He will answer me and tell me great and unsearchable things I do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:3
He redeems my life from the pit and crowns me with love and compassion, Psalm 103:4
For the Spirit God gave me does not make me timid, but gives me power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
The Lord bless me and keep me; the Lord make his face shine on me and be gracious to me; the Lord turn his face toward me and give me peace.”’ Numbers 6:24-26
For the Lord has chosen me to be his own, to be his treasured possession. Psalm 135:4
The Lord my God is with me, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in me; in his love he will no longer rebuke me, but will rejoice over me with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
The spiritual armor is complete with defensive gear, but it only has one offensive weapon: the Word of God. If we are going to defeat the enemy’s attacks on our minds, we must declare God’s truth, using the Word of God which is alive and active (Hebrews 4:12).
We must remember that our mouths only reflect the condition of our hearts (Luke 6:45). Let’s fill our hearts and minds with God’s truth so it is reflected in our words.
Let’s take the next 30 days to let God do a mighty work in us so He can do a mighty work through us!
Father, you have called us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. We know that it is your Word—your truth—that sets us free! As we proclaim the truths of your Word over our lives in the next 30 days, let our enemy flee! Let your perfect peace flood over us, reminding us that it is your goodness and grace that transforms us, that transforms our lives. Give us eyes to see this life as you do. Do a mighty work in us so You can do a mighty work through us. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
