None of us likes the pain and trials of this world. We don’t rejoice when life gets hard, when we are struck with illness or the loss of a loved one. We don’t look forward to these painful circumstances that are part of the human experience.
I’m not sure where the church got this idea that a woman (or man) must stay in an abusive marriage. I don’t know how scripture can be so twisted and manipulated
The tears welled up as the dagger was stuck into my heart and twisted so deeply. The stereotypical comment was more than my bleeding heart could handle. In that moment, I contemplated never stepping foot in a church again.
God is still in control. He is still fighting for you even when your marriage fails. He still has great plans for you even when your partner leaves you behind.
I don’t know those answers, but today I find myself crying out for God to help my unbelief…
I don’t pretend to be an expert or to know everything about healing or growth in the spiritual realm, but I can tell you some techniques that helped me tremendously in my journey toward wholeness.
As I have contemplated how to trust God in the unexpected, I’ve found four words that are helping me.
Give us a vision of the beauty you want to bring out of our broken lives.
But when I truly reached that place where Jesus was all I had, I found He was more than enough.
